Mr. Asad Sultan
Chief Executive Officer
Asad has almost 30 years experience as an equities and capital markets expert with C-level executive positions at Macquarie Bank, ITG Securities, and Cantor Fitzgerald. Asad was a principal partner in entrepreneurial ventures in Malaysia (solar and renewable energy) and Hollywood (media and entertainment), and has extensive networks spanning HK/China, Malaysia/SE Asia, India/S. Asia, Germany/Europe, and California/N. America.
Deutsche Malayan Ventures will provide bespoke cross-border advisory services for investment and execution of high-value projects in Malaysia, working with other leading stakeholders in government, banking and industry.
Dr. Cornelius Boersch
Non-Executive Chairman
Dr. Cornelius Boersch (“Conny”) is the founder of Mountain Partners AG and has been a passionate entrepreneur, investor and founder of numerous technology companies for the past 25 years, such as ACG and Smartrac.
Conny is the “European Business Angel of the Year 2009” and currently one of the most active and well-recognized Business Angels in Europe.
Suraj Arora
Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer
Suraj Arora is an accomplished banker with 25 years of corporate experience , and with functional expertise across Mergers & Acquisitions, Fund Raising, Mentoring New Ventures, Start-up investments, Corporate & Investment Banking, Remittance and Digital Banking. Suraj was the Country Head for ICICI Bank in Malaysia, serving the Bank for 17 years.
Suraj has an MBA degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh and is a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi, India.
Marc Bode
Managing Partner, Europe
Marc is a Zurich based investor originally from Kassel, Germany. He is supporting Mountain Partners Group in the Middle East, India and Far East. Marc has a global network and has been working together with Dr. Boersch for 25 years. Marc was Partner of TellSell Consulting, a leading Consultancy, and has10+ years experience in Telecom and Technology, Internet and E-Business, and Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
He co-founded ImmobilienScout 24 after starting his career as a product manager with Unilever. Marc studied economics at the University of Kassel and Lynchburg, Virgina.
Alexander Hornung
Investment Director
Alex holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master in Business from European Business School as well as a Master in Management and Economics (China Studies) from the Yenching Academy of Peking University.
He gained experience in international Capital Markets Law with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (Frankfurt) and large scale cross border investing at Silk Road Finance Corporation (Hong Kong), before joining Mountain Partners as Junior Investment Manager and Assistant to Dr. Cornelius Boersch in 2018.
Philip Behrends
Investment Director
Philip Behrends first joined Mountain Partners as a Business Development Intern in 2013. Today, he is the assistant to the founder and chairman of the executive management, Dr. Cornelius Boersch, and Junior Legal Counsel.
As such, Philip takes care of investment and portfolio management projects for Dr. Boersch as well as a range of legal tasks including contract drafting and investment structuring. Additionally, Philip is currently heavily involved in the internationalization of Mountain Partners to Japan. Philip holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK.
